MEET JUSTINE YOUR BABY AND TODDLER SLEEP CONSULTANT

Just like you, I’m a mum who has experienced her own challenges and worries over my children’s sleeping habits. With 15 years of experience as an Early Childhood educator, surely I knew exactly what to do at every moment, and raising kids has been a breeze? Uh, not quite...
Instead, I understood how important it was to find our flow with sleep, to respond and to build healthy connections and attachment. When my oldest Sam was born, I knew my return to work meant that I had to be ON - after all, an entire childcare centre of parents depended on me to be ready to roll and to offer their children my best, let alone be a well-rested mum for my son.
What really moved me forward with my sleep education and experience, however, was having my own lockdown baby, Sienna, who joined us earth side in the heart of Melbourne’s second lockdown. Connecting with mothers online, I saw a common theme of isolation and distress about managing sleep and understanding their bub’s needs. It was time to step up and create the role we desperately need for new mums and dads - so here I am!

Here’s a secret not many people will tell you: A sleep consultant is not just for challenging babies and toddlers, and we’re definitely not the last line of defence. You don’t call an architect once the house is built, right? It’s just the same for when we are establishing healthy foundations for sleep and settling. We can start our journey together before your baby is even born!
As the saying goes - you don’t know what you don’t know. And since babies and toddlers don’t come with manuals (only a thousand baby books, each contradicting the other and making you cross-eyed and more anxious than before…) sleep can be a bit of a tricky topic to squeeze in there amongst the feeding, bathing, tummy time, enrichment play, keeping them off the ipad etc. etc.

What counts is factual evidence, neurological safety, your relationship with your child, response when they need you, understanding when it’s ok to give your little one some space, child mental health, parent mental health.
